Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Scribe and Medical Assistant, where you will play a vital role in enhancing patient care and streamlining clinical workflows. You will support physicians by accurately transcribing patient encounters and managing medical records, while also providing direct patient care, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with routine procedures. Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe detailed physician-patient interactions in real-time using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring precise medical documentation.
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations by preparing supplies, positioning patients, and supporting procedures.
- Manage and update patient medical records with thorough documentation of symptoms, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up instructions.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and assisting with injections or other minor procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment, including sterilizing equipment and restocking supplies as needed.
- Support administrative duties like scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient check-in/check-out processes.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to ensure accurate communication and recordkeeping.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment; prior EMR/EHR system familiarity is highly preferred.
- Excellent transcription skills with the ability to accurately document complex medical conversations swiftly.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical records management.
- Ability to type quickly and accurately to support real-time documentation needs.
- Experience working in emergency room settings is a plus, demonstrating ability to perform under pressure.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures including scheduling, billing support, and patient communication.
