Get to Know Your Team:

• UT Health East Texas Physicians has over 90 primary and specialty care clinics, providing comprehensive medical education and innovative research. There are also residency programs throughout our hospitals and clinics actively training the medical leaders of the future

• Works under the direct supervisor of the assigned physician and manager of the clinic.
• Acts independently and in collaboration with medical staff.
• Supports the physician in the documentation of clinical activities.
• Ensures information in the patient’s record is sufficient to provide quality care and meet the standards of Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid, third party payors and UT Health East Texas.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Graduate from a medical assisting program or medical transcription experience

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care

• Experience working as a medical scribe.
• Experience charting in an EMR.
• Medical Terminology (i.e. Anatomy and Physiology).
