Medical Scribe/Medical Assistant

Elvira Lindwall MD – Rheumatology Thousand Oaks, CA

This position is for a MA or premed student familiar with medical terminology and with some experience to join a Growing Rheumatology practice in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Responsibilities:

Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by physicians, including but not limited to:

• Patient medical history and physical exam,
• Procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals, including nurses and physician assistants.
• Patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
• Physician-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions and instructions for patient or family members for self-care and follow-up
• Prepare referral letters as directed by the physician
• Medical Scribes also spot mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation and check to correct the information in order to reduce errors.
• Collect, organize and catalog data for physician quality reporting system quality improvement
• Alert physician when chart is incomplete.
• comply with expected standards, as well as with confidentiality, as required

Skills, Education, Experience:

• At least 1-year experience as MA or have medical background
• Detail oriented and multi-tasking
• Familiar with Electronic Medical Record keeping systems with strong typing skills. eClinical Works experience preferred.
