Medical Technician

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Technician (Traveler) to support our client’s medical facility. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading healthcare organization while gaining valuable travel experience.

Job Title: Medical Technician (Traveler)

Location: Erie, PA 16509

Shift/Time Zone: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM (Rotating weekends & holidays)

Pay Rate: $2377/week (Competitive / Based on Experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform specimen handling, processing, testing, analysis, and result reporting according to laboratory procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of patient results and proficiency testing samples.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing methods and department SOPs.
• Review, verify, and release laboratory test results.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety guidelines.
• Perform quality control procedures, calibrations, and maintenance documentation.
• Troubleshoot testing issues and notify senior technologists or supervisors when needed.
• Document corrective actions when systems fall outside acceptable performance levels.
• Report critical results to clients following department procedures.
• Answer inquiries from customers and laboratory personnel when applicable.
• Maintain complete testing records and department organization.
• Monitor reagent/test kit dates including received, opened, and expiration dates.
• Participate in training, educational meetings, and safety sessions.
• Perform moderate-complexity testing with on-site training if applicable.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education Requirements:

• BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology preferred.
• OR Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology preferred.
• Experience in documentation for blood bank
• Phlebotomy - 35 to 40 draws - per day

Experience Requirements:

• 1–3 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Blood bank exp required - transfusion, cross matching, Pregnant urine test, COVID quad tests, Coeg instruments

Required Skills:

• Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple procedures simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
