Medical Technician (MEP)

Job Purpose:

The Medical Technician (MEP) is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of medical equipment and specialized healthcare MEP systems. The role supports the successful execution and operation of healthcare facility projects while ensuring compliance with project specifications, healthcare standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, commission, and maintain medical equipment and healthcare-related MEP systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of medical equipment and associated systems.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of medical gas systems, nurse call systems, and other healthcare infrastructure systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment faults and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct routine inspections and functional testing of medical equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and equipment manuals.
  • Coordinate with MEP Engineers, Biomedical Engineers, Consultants, and Hospital Representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment documentation.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities for healthcare facility projects.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and operation of medical equipment and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Technical Certificate in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, MEP, or a related field.
  • Relevant technical certifications are an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in healthcare MEP projects, hospitals, clinics, or medical facilities.
  • Experience in installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of medical equipment and healthcare systems.
  • UAE/GCC experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledge of healthcare facility MEP systems and medical equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose technical faults.
  • Familiarity with medical gas systems, nurse call systems, and healthcare infrastructure.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

  • Site-based work involving installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning activities.
