Major/Essential Functions
Perform and validate a wide range of laboratory tests, including chemical, microscopic, serologic, hematologic, immunohematologic, parasitologic, and bacteriologic analyses.
Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through strict quality control, troubleshooting, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Assist in the supervision, training, and support of laboratory staff in day-to-day operations, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to procedures.
Occasional Duties
This position may occasionally act as Chief Medical Tech when that person is out of the office. Leadership experience is preferred.
Participate in monthly staff meetings to review workflow issues, communicate updates, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in preparation for CAP (College of American Pathologists) inspections and support the proper completion of CAP surveys.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the biological, natural or physical sciences. Registered as a Medical Technologist (MT) ASCP. No previous work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a medical lab preferred.
Experience using Altera Touchworks and Orchard Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
