Medical Technologist - Fort Harrison, MT

Job Title: Medical Technologist Specialty: Clinical Laboratory / Medical Laboratory Technology Place of Work (City/State): Fort Harrison, MT 59636 Duration: 12+ Months Shift Schedule: Preferably Nights
10-hour shifts (Evenings / Nights). Rotating shifts may include evening and graveyard coverage based on facility needs. How many shifts needed per month: Full-time schedule (approximately 40 hours per week) License: Any State License Certifications:
  • Board Certified Medical Technologist ASCP or AMT
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
Experience needed: Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience, phlebotomy. Special Skills needed:
  • Ability to perform laboratory testing across multiple disciplines
  • Experience with automated and manual laboratory equipment
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality control and quality assurance procedures
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of laboratory procedures in disciplines including chemistry, coagulation, hematology, immunology, immunohematology, blood gases, urinalysis, microbiology, and phlebotomy.
  • Develop, perform, evaluate, interpret, and validate laboratory test results.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and automated equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control systems to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Exercise independent judgment while performing laboratory tests with minimal supervision.
  • Document laboratory results, quality control activities, and related records accurately.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Maintain compliance with VA policies, laboratory safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
