Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings of medical reports, including patient histories, examination notes, diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge summaries
• Ensure all transcriptions adhere to established medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology standards for accuracy and clarity
• Review and edit transcribed documents for grammatical correctness, formatting consistency, and completeness
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information in compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify unclear dictations or terminology when necessary
• Prioritize workload to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
• Utilize specialized transcription software and typing skills to efficiently produce precise documentation

Experience

• Proven experience in medical transcription or a related role within a healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Excellent typing speed and accuracy with a keen eye for detail
• Familiarity with medical office procedures and documentation standards
• Ability to interpret diverse accents and dictation styles accurately
• Experience with transcription tools and electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred
