Job Summary:

The Medical Transcriptionist will be responsible for accurately transcribing and editing medical reports dictated by doctors and healthcare professionals in a hospital setting. The role ensures timely, error-free clinical documentation while maintaining complete confidentiality of patient records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe OPD notes, discharge summaries, operative notes, medical histories, referral letters, and investigation reports
  • Edit and proofread transcribed documents for accuracy, grammar, and correct medical terminology
  • Ensure proper formatting as per hospital documentation standards
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with medical data security guidelines
  • Identify inconsistencies and clarify doubts with doctors when required
  • Upload completed reports into the hospital system within defined TAT
  • Coordinate with medical, nursing, and administrative staff for documentation support

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certification or formal training in Medical Transcription
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical documentation
  • Excellent English typing speed and accuracy
  • Ability to understand various speech accents
  • Proficiency in MS Word / Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
  • High attention to detail and time management skills
