Medical Transport Driver

Duties

• Safely operate various types of vehicles including shuttle vans, paratransit vehicles, and commercial transport vans to transport patients and medical staff.
• Assist passengers with mobility needs, including loading and unloading heavy or specialized equipment, ensuring safety at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation routes.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare facilities, and passengers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns promptly.
• Ensure proper documentation of trips, including logs of mileage, passenger details, and incident reports if necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service by demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and clear communication throughout each trip.

Skills

• Proven experience as a shuttle driver, delivery driver, bus driver, or similar role involving commercial driving or passenger transportation.
• Strong driving skills with a valid <PERSON> driver’s license or equivalent; experience with limousine or school bus driving is a plus.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare staff, and team members.
• Ability to handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers or moving equipment safely.
• Experience in paratransit services or heavy-duty vehicle operation preferred.
• Demonstrated reliability with punctuality and adherence to schedules; ability to remain calm under pressure.
