About the Job

As an NEMT Driver, you'll provide safe and reliable transportation for patients using wheelchairs and stretchers to and from medical appointments, hospitals, and facilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting patients with mobility issues into wheelchairs
• Safely transporting patients to their destinations
• Transferring patients to stretcher from hospital bed and back to hospital bed
• Securing patient to stretcher and making sure the patient is safe and comfortable
• Securing wheelchairs and stretchers in the van
• Providing excellent customer service and ensuring patient safety
• Cleaning and disinfecting of equipment, wheelchair and stretcher, disposal of sheets and redressing stretcher with disposable sheets and disposable pillow cases.
• Stocking cabinets in van with supplies as needed
• Using onboard tablet for receiving trip information and patient information.
• Using radio for communication with dispatch and team

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to assist a 250-pound person with mobility issues
• Ability to transfer patient using slide sheet onto stretcher
• Ability to handle stretcher independently or with help depending on patient load (our stretchers have grip bars for easier maneuvering) (it is an electric stretcher, no lifting of the stretcher required)
• Physical capability to assist patients with mobility challenges
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• 3 years of driving experience
• CPR FIRST AID/ PASS CERTIFICATION, AND ALZHEIMER TRAINING (we will help you acquire these)
