Medical Ward Nurse - Manipal Hospitals, Mysore

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive and ongoing nursing assessments of patient health status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation in patient records.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures, including blood draws, ECGs, and imaging preparation.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of patient care plans.
• Ensure infection control protocols and hygiene standards are strictly followed.
• Respond effectively to emergencies, including CPR and rapid response protocols.
• Prepare patients for discharge and provide post-discharge care instructions.

Safety & Infection Control:

• Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection prevention protocols.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions or deterioration and escalate appropriately.
• Participate in safety audits and incident reporting.

Teamwork & Supervision:

• Collaborate effectively with nursing colleagues and multidisciplinary staff.
• Support junior nurses, student nurses, and healthcare assistants.
• Attend handovers, contribute to ward rounds, and support efficient shift transitions.
