The Make Progress Leader provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and team development for a core component of Atlanta Mission’s long-term transformation programming at The Shepherd’s Inn. This role is ideal for an experienced people manager and program leader who thrives in building strong teams, managing performance, and ensuring programs run with excellence, consistency, and measurable impact.
This leader is responsible for overseeing staff, managing program execution, strengthening systems and processes, and ensuring clients progress effectively through individualized service plans in a Christ-centered residential environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, manage, and continuously improve programs, services, and daily operations to ensure alignment with Atlanta Mission’s transformation model and organizational goals

Provide clear vision, structure, and direction for program execution while maintaining flexibility in a dynamic residential environment

Manage program schedules, services, and interventions to ensure efficiency, consistency, and effective client progression

Ensure curriculum, interventions, and service delivery models are aligned, implemented with fidelity, and evaluated regularly

Identify, assess, and implement best practices to improve outcomes, effectiveness, and client experience

Produce and analyze reports related to program performance, client progress, and service delivery throughout the client lifecycle

Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and evaluate team members with diverse skill sets across clinical and non-clinical disciplines

Set clear performance expectations and hold staff accountable through regular feedback, goal setting, and performance evaluations

Foster a highly engaged, mission-aligned team culture focused on collaboration, professionalism, and excellence

Facilitate team meetings, trainings, and interdepartmental collaboration to ensure clarity of roles, precision of processes, and consistency of services

Support staff development and succession planning through coaching and skill-building opportunities

Collaborate with internal departments and campus leadership to enhance operational support, service integration, and overall client experience

Participate in organizational and program design efforts to assess strengths, identify gaps, and implement improvements

Ensure smooth internal communication with stakeholders to support effective execution of policies, procedures, and initiatives

Oversee systems that track and monitor client progress against personalized service plans

Ensure appropriate documentation, data integrity, and use of database systems to support reporting and decision-making

Provide leadership presence on campus during emergencies or critical decision-making situations, prioritizing safety and securit

Position Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role

Demonstrated success in managing employee performance, leading teams, and driving programmatic results
-
Experience overseeing programs, operations, or service delivery in human services, nonprofit, residential, or mission-driven environments
-
Strong operational mindset, including experience with budgets, workflows, and navigating ambiguity while meeting objectives
-
Proficiency in database systems and program management software
-
Understanding of interdisciplinary services, including counseling, social work, vocational, or case management supports
-
Proven ability to identify, innovate, and implement best-practice techniques and interventions
-
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, engage, and align teams (written, verbal, and presentations)

Strong relational skills with the ability to lead and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences
Supervisory Requirements:
- Direct supervision of an interdisciplinary team comprised of both clinical and non-clinical staff

Responsible for staff performance management, development, and alignment with program goals and organizational values
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires remaining stationary for long periods of time and to move and walk to various locations, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, reach, pull, push, bend and twist.

Must have the ability to operate a computer, intranet services, and systems to maintain electronic health records. Must also have the ability to operate other office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator and computer printer

Must be able to communicate accurate information

Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 10lbs
Environmental Job Requirements:
- Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions during events

Moderate noise as in a business office environment

Lower exposure risk to communicable diseases as described by OSHA
Special Job Requirements:
- While this position will primarily serve one campus, this position will require travel to additional campuses associated with Atlanta Mission for training and inter-departmental collaborative meetings.
