Essential qualifications:
- A Master of Science in Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing) from an INC-recognized Institution.
- Current registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in mental health nursing.
Experience:
- Minimum of 02 years of work experience after completing a M.Sc. Nursing.
Core responsibilities
- Teaching and curriculum development:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in mental health nursing to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
- Design, develop, and review teaching materials, including lectures, assignments, and assessments.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods, such as flipped classrooms or authentic assessments, to enhance student learning.
- Student support and mentorship:
- Provide academic advice, guidance, and feedback to support student progress.
- Supervise clinical teaching and assist with clinical placements.
- Act as a professional role model for students and newer staff.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students.
- Assessment and evaluation:
- Assess student knowledge and skills through various methods, such as exams, quizzes, and clinical performance evaluations.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on written work and assignments.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs and suggest improvements.
- Professional development and research:
- Stay current with the latest developments, research, and best practices in mental health nursing.
- Contribute to research, scholarly activities, and publications in the field.
- Maintain professional development and credentials as required.
- Administrative duties:
- Assist with the administration of the nursing program.
- Maintain accurate records of student training and performance.
- Collaborate with other faculty, departments, and administrators to improve the program.
