Under general supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional, Performs counseling and supportive services for mentally ill inmates consisting of social skills groups, reviewing treatment plans, recreational activities, developing and implementing re-entry assessment goals. Establish a supportive, motivational, and therapeutic relationship within the parameters of a correctional environment. Plans, organize and lead structured programs including individual and group therapeutic services. Provides focus intervention in collaboration with SCDC clinical and custody staff to enhance skills and effective management of inmates. Assists with custody related duties such as transportation, supervision of recreation and suicide watch. Attend divisional meetings and staff training as required.**Schedule subject to fluctuate to include after hours and on-site weekend/holiday coverage. **This position is at RMHU. Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
State of South Carolina minimum requirements: A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience. SCDC minimum requirements: A bachelor's degree in a human services or criminal justice field.
