Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to support patients experiencing acute mental health episodes or trauma, including PTSD care and grief counseling.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with patient needs, including working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or chronic pain conditions.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document all patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and proper medical documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including social workers, case managers, medical professionals, and educators—to coordinate comprehensive care and support services.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives to improve therapeutic outcomes and contribute to evidence-based practices within behavioral health.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Registered intern or valid licensure as a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), or equivalent state credential.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology support, and crisis management.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
- Experience with telehealth platforms for remote patient care delivery is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnosis documentation and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health and mental health conditions.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, case management, social work principles, and patient care coordination.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while maintaining a positive attitude that fosters trust and rapport with patients.
