Part Time Position: 20 hours a week
BGH Clinic is an outpatient behavioral health organization providing high-quality, community-based mental health services. We are seeking a Maryland Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our interdisciplinary care team. Qualified positions can include and Clinically (independent) licensed counselor or therapist, social worker.
This role is responsible for delivering direct clinical services, coordinating psychosocial care, and supporting individuals and families through evidence-based interventions. The Mental Health Counselor will work under the general direction of the Clinical Director or designee to assess needs, develop treatment plans, and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to evaluate client needs and level of functioning
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy services
- Deliver crisis intervention services as needed
- Develop and implement treatment, behavioral, and safety plans
- Coordinate and schedule therapy sessions and follow-up care
- Provide guidance and interventions to caregivers, educators, and support systems to reinforce treatment goals
- Identify when additional services are needed and facilitate appropriate referrals (e.g., psychiatric evaluation, hospitalization, psychological testing, or community-based services)
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries
- Ensure compliance with documentation, billing, and audit requirements
- Participate in utilization reviews as assigned
- Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and COMAR regulations
- Attend required supervision, team meetings, and case consultations
- Support outreach efforts, including participation in community events, screenings, and workshops
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required
- Active Maryland licensure required (LCPC or LCSW-C)
- Experience working with diverse populations and in multicultural environments
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and function effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Willingness to participate in community outreach activities
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience working in urban or community-based settings
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and integrated behavioral health models
- Experience with evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing
- Strong interpersonal, engagement, and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems
- Commitment to delivering culturally responsive, patient-centered care
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for role responsibilities)

Work Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring some in-person service delivery, collaboration with team members, and participation in clinic-based and community activities.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
