Mental Health Worker

Join our team as a temporary Mental Health Worker with strong potential for permanent placement. This role offers a great opportunity to demonstrate your skills, contribute in a fast-paced environment, and grow with the organization. The goal is to transition into a permanent full-time Union position after completing 3 months of temporary employment. We’re seeking a motivated individual who is dependable, adaptable, and interested in building a long-term career with us.

What is Expected in this ROLE

  • Assist the Mental Health Professional (Master's degree level)
  • Provide counseling and case management services to youth with psychiatric and/or co-occurring disorders
  • Develops and maintains complete clinical records
  • Completes assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharges, and other clinical and administrative documents
  • Regularly checks to ensure that content, signatures, credentials, dates, times, service types and legibility meet standards
  • Presents referrals to other Consortium units, outside agencies, or support networks. Follow-up on referrals to ensure continuity of care. Follow-up on referrals related to discharge. Ensure all referrals and follow-up efforts are documented
  • Participates in case conferences and staff meetings. Utilizes input from these meetings to update treatment plans and/or incorporate treatment strategies
  • Follows unit procedures to schedule appointments
  • Manage caseload to assess individual progress, reviewing appropriateness of and interest in service provided. Encourages treatment through outreach effort. Discharges individuals when service is no longer desired or clinically determined
  • Completes Utilization Review on peer clinical records

What is Expected of YOU

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services AND minimum of 2+ years of experience/training
  • Medical Specialty: Addictions and/or Psychiatry
  • Required: current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Proficient communication skills
  • Crisis prevention AND intervention orientated
  • Responsible for meeting the required hours of direct service on a weekly basis AND being on time and prepared for scheduled appointments
  • Attend bi-weekly individual supervision and bi-weekly group supervision
  • Complete training and seminars per departmental, agency, managed care and regulatory requirements
  • Know your stuff - be an enthusiastic learner while sharing your knowledge.
  • Work as a TEAM player to drive results and growth.
