MEP BIM Manager

An MEP BIM Manager in construction leads the digital modeling, coordination, and installation of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems. They develop BIM Execution Plans (BEP), manage interdisciplinary clash detection using software like Revit and Navisworks, ensure compliance with project standards, and facilitate technical resolution to optimize MEP systems.

Core Responsibilities

• BIM Strategy & Standards: Developing and maintaining project-specific BIM standards, protocols, and the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) to ensure consistent, efficient delivery.
• Model Management & Coordination: Integrating MEP models with architectural and structural models, managing version control, and performing regular audits for model health and accuracy.
• Clash Detection & Resolution: Identifying interdisciplinary conflicts early, conducting clash detection tests, and coordinating with engineers and contractors to resolve issues before fabrication/installation.
• Team Leadership & Support: Mentoring and training BIM coordinators and engineers, and overseeing the production of Revit models (LOD 400-500) and shop drawings.
• Technical Compliance & Documentation: Ensuring MEP designs adhere to project specifications, local codes, and industry standards.
• Site Support: Assisting with RFI (Request for Information) resolution and updating models to reflect as-built conditions for final project close-out.

Key Skills & Tools

• Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD, and data management tools.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction methods, and building codes.
• Leadership: Experience leading teams, managing project workflows, and collaborating with stakeholders.
