MEP Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced MEP Design Engineer with at least 5 years of UAE experience, including fit-out projects. The candidate will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and reviewing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for commercial, residential, and hospitality fit-out projects, ensuring compliance with UAE codes, standards, and client requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Documentation

• Prepare detailed MEP designs, drawings, and technical specifications for fit-out projects, including offices, retail spaces, hotels, and residential interiors.
• Perform HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection system calculations for fit-out works.
• Develop equipment schedules, load calculations, and material specifications suitable for fit-out conditions.

Coordination

• Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth integration of MEP systems within fit-out designs.
• Conduct clash detection using BIM tools (Revit/MAGICAD/Navisworks) and resolve conflicts.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to maintain design integrity and project timelines.

Technical Compliance

• Ensure all designs comply with UAE statutory authorities and relevant codes (DEWA, Civil Defense, ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.).
• Review vendor drawings and submittals, ensuring suitability for fit-out applications.
• Update designs as required based on site conditions or client requests.

Site & Project Support

• Provide technical support during construction/installation of fit-out MEP systems.
• Conduct site visits to ensure design adherence and troubleshoot any fit-out-specific installation challenges.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure high-quality documentation and adherence to UAE MEP standards and fit-out industry best practices.
• Implement QA/QC procedures for fit-out design and execution phases.

Qualifications & ExperienceEssential

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years UAE experience, with proven involvement in fit-out projects.
• Strong expertise in BIM software (Revit MEP preferred).
• Knowledge of UAE codes, standards, and fit-out industry practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office.

Desirable

• UAE professional engineering license.
• Experience in LEED/BREEAM compliant fit-out designs.
• Previous work with major contractors or interior fit-out consultants in UAE.
