Job Overview

Colas Rail Egypt is seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Design Engineer to join our team working on the prestigious Abo Qir – Alexandria Railway Project . This role is critical to ensuring reliable, efficient, and compliant HVAC systems across railway facilities, contributing directly to passenger comfort, operational safety, and long-term asset performance. You will work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment on one of Egypt’s key rail infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, review, and develop HVAC systems for railway-related buildings and facilities (stations, technical rooms, operational areas).
• Prepare HVAC design calculations, drawings, specifications, and BOQs in compliance with project requirements and international standards.
• Coordinate with architectural, electrical, plumbing, and civil teams to ensure integrated and clash-free designs.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals related to HVAC systems.
• Provide technical support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety, and sustainability requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and value engineering exercises.
  
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (HVAC specialization preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in HVAC design, preferably in infrastructure, railway, or large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles, load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, HVAC calculation tools).
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASHRAE, EN, or equivalent).
• Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
