MEP Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced MEP Design Engineer with a strong background in the design and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use projects. The ideal candidate should have at least 7 years of relevant experience in the UAE, thorough knowledge of local authority regulations, and proficiency in MEP design software.

Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Systems

• Design HVAC systems including chilled water, DX, ventilation, smoke management, and exhaust systems.
• Perform cooling load calculations and equipment selection.
• Prepare mechanical design drawings, layouts, and specifications.

Electrical Systems

• Design power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, ELV, and earthing systems.
• Prepare load schedules, cable sizing calculations, and voltage drop calculations.
• Coordinate with utility authorities for approvals.

Plumbing & Fire Protection

• Design water supply, drainage, stormwater, and irrigation systems.
• Design fire fighting and fire alarm systems in accordance with local codes and standards.
• Prepare hydraulic calculations and equipment selections.

Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and other disciplines.
• Review shop drawings and material submittals.
• Ensure compliance with UAE authority requirements and international standards.
• Participate in design review meetings and technical discussions.
• Support project execution teams with design clarifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of MEP design experience, including significant UAE/GCC project experience.
• Strong knowledge of UAE authority regulations (e.g., Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence, and relevant authorities in other emirates).
• Proficiency in:
• AutoCAD
• Revit MEP
• Navisworks
• HVAC and electrical calculation software.
• Strong understanding of ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, and local UAE codes.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

• BIM modeling and clash detection experience.
• Experience in high-rise, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• UAE driving license (preferred).
