MEP Design Engineer – Mechanical Systems (Office-Based)

About the Role

Burtville Development is looking for a skilled MEP Design Engineer specializing in Mechanical Systems to join our growing technical team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design coordination and technical development of HVAC and related MEP systems for residential and mixed-use developments.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, coordination capabilities, and familiarity with UAE authority regulations and project standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate mechanical and MEP design packages from concept stage through tender documentation
• Prepare and review HVAC system layouts, equipment selection, ventilation calculations, and service coordination
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, interior design, and BIM teams to ensure integrated project delivery
• Review mechanical design drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical submittals
• Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi regulations and authority requirements including ADM, ADDC, Estidama, and Civil Defense
• Support design reviews, clash detection, and coordination using BIM/Revit/Navisworks
• Participate in technical meetings with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Assist in resolving technical and site coordination issues during design and construction stages
• Review shop drawings and material submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications
• Provide technical support for tendering, procurement, and construction activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 10–12 years of experience in MEP design and coordination, preferably within the UAE
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical design standards
• Experience working on residential and mixed-use development projects
• Familiarity with UAE authority regulations and approval procedures
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and other relevant design software
• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in BIM-based project coordination
• Knowledge of sustainable design and Estidama requirements
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
