MEP Draftsman

Job Summary

The MEP Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in accordance with UAE regulations, project specifications, and authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare MEP shop drawings (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting) using AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Develop coordination drawings and resolve clashes with architectural and structural drawings
• Modify drawings based on site conditions, consultant comments, and engineer instructions
• Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion
• Ensure drawings comply with UAE codes and standards (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, DM, Civil Defence, etc.)
• Coordinate with MEP engineers, site teams, and other disciplines
• Maintain proper drawing registers and document control
• Assist engineers with layouts, schematics, and details
• Review tender drawings and BOQs to understand project requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Drafting
• 3–5 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman in the UAE
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit MEP is an advantage)
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and symbols
• Experience with authority approvals and local regulations
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good coordination and communication skills

Preferred Experience

• UAE construction or contracting company experience
• High-rise buildings, residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of BIM standards (if applicable)

Software Skills

• AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Revit MEP (preferred)
• MS Office

Pay: AED3,500.00 - AED6,500.00 per month
