MEP ELECTRICAN

Job Summary

The MEP Electrician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects. This role supports residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects in compliance with UAE regulations, safety standards, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities Electrical Installation & Maintenance

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including:
• Power distribution boards (DBs)
• Lighting systems
• Cable trays, trunking, and conduits
• Switchgear, sockets, and panels
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, shop drawings, and MEP layouts
• Perform cable pulling, dressing, termination, and labeling

Testing & Commissioning

• Conduct electrical testing (continuity, insulation resistance, earthing)
• Assist in testing and commissioning of electrical systems
• Identify faults and carry out corrective actions

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure work complies with:
• DEWA / ADDC / SEWA / Etihad Water & Electricity regulations
• Dubai Municipality and UAE electrical codes
• Follow site safety rules and HSE guidelines
• Use proper PPE and safe work practices at all times

Coordination & Site Work

• Coordinate with MEP supervisors, engineers, and other trades
• Report progress and issues to the site supervisor
• Maintain tools and ensure proper housekeeping at the work site

Requirements & Qualifications Education & Certification

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical or relevant technical qualification
• Valid electrician trade certificate preferred

Experience

• 2–5 years of experience as an MEP Electrician in the UAE
• Experience in residential, commercial, or high-rise projects preferred

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of MEP electrical systems
• Familiarity with UAE authority standards (DEWA, ADDC, etc.)
• Ability to read drawings and follow technical instructions
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Physical & Work Conditions

• Ability to work on construction sites and at heights
• Willingness to work overtime or shifts if required
• Good physical fitness for manual electrical work
