Position Overview
The MEP Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, reviewing, and supervising the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works across residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate projects. The role involves coordinating with design consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure high-quality, cost-efficient, and timely execution of all MEP systems.
Key Responsibilities1. Design & Technical Review
- Review and validate MEP design drawings, specifications, BOQs, and shop drawings prepared by consultants and contractors.
- Ensure all MEP designs comply with local codes, regulations, sustainability requirements, and industry best practices.
- Provide inputs on system design, value engineering, and alternative solutions to optimize cost and performance.
2. Project Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into project layouts.
- Attend design coordination meetings and resolve technical discrepancies.
- Liaise with authorities for design approvals, permits, and inspections.
3. Site Supervision & Quality Control
- Monitor MEP work execution at site to ensure adherence to approved drawings, standards, and timelines.
- Conduct regular site inspections and report quality issues, deviations, and progress.
- Review method statements, material submittals, and test reports from contractors.
4. Project Management & Documentation
- Prepare project progress reports, MEP status updates, and risk mitigation plans.
- Support tendering activities including technical evaluations and contractor selection.
- Maintain accurate documentation, drawings, and records as per company standards.
5. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Oversee testing and commissioning of all MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, fire-fighting, plumbing, ELV, etc.).
- Ensure proper operation, safety compliance, and certification.
- Support final snagging, handover procedures, and post-handover technical support.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in MEP design and site execution, preferably with real estate developers or large construction projects.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing, and ELV systems.
- Familiarity with local building codes, authority regulations, sustainability standards, and energy-efficient solutions.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, and other engineering tools (preferred).
- Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
