Role Overview
The MEP Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and supervising all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works for high risk residential and commercial projects. The role ensures that all MEP systems are installed as per design, safety standards, and project timelines.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Coordination
- Review MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs for accuracy and feasibility.
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and vendors to finalize MEP layouts.
- Prepare work schedules for MEP activities as per the project timeline.
2. Site Execution & Supervision
- Oversee installation of HVAC, electrical systems, fire-fighting systems, plumbing & drainage systems.
- Monitor daily site progress and ensure quality workmanship.
- Ensure adherence to approved MEP drawings and technical specifications.
- Identify site issues and provide immediate technical solutions.
3. Quality Control & Safety Compliance
- Conduct inspections and testing for all MEP systems.
- Ensure compliance with IS codes, NBC norms, and safety standards.
- Verify contractor workmanship and material quality.
4. Vendor & Contractor Management
- Coordinate with MEP contractors for work execution.
- Evaluate vendor quotations and support procurement team for material finalization.
- Certify contractor bills and verify work completion.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain site reports, checklists, inspection records, and test certificates.
- Prepare weekly and monthly MEP progress reports.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and handover documents.
6. Project Handover
- Conduct testing & commissioning of all systems.
- Ensure snag rectification before client handover.
- Support facility team with technical knowledge post-handover.
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing & fire-fighting systems, High risk Residential/Commercial
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings.
- Good understanding of building codes, safety rules & standards.
- Vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent site management and problem-solving skills.
- Basic AutoCAD / Revit knowledge preferred.
