MEP Estimation Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Tendering & Estimation
• Study tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs for MEP systems (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting, etc.)
• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for MEP works using estimation software and Excel.
• Source and analyze vendor/subcontractor quotations for material and installation costs.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals for tender submissions.
• Participate in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
• Coordination
• Collaborate with design, procurement, and planning teams to align technical and commercial submissions.
• Liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors to clarify project scope and requirements.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Prepare project estimation reports, bid summaries, and post-tender clarifications.
• Maintain and update cost databases, material rates, and labor productivity norms.
• Assist in preparing budgets for awarded projects.
• Compliance
• Ensure estimates comply with relevant codes, standards, and company procedures.
• Follow best practices in cost estimation and project risk assessment.

Requirements:

• Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Experience:

3–7 years of proven experience in MEP estimation for construction or contracting companies.

• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, CCS Candy, Bluebeam, etc.)
• Familiarity with local and international codes and standards.
• Good analytical and numerical skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in GCC / Middle East construction markets.
• Knowledge of BIM and digital estimation tools.
• Membership in engineering bodies is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED9,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
