MEP Foreman (Electrical / Ducting / HVAC / Piping)

Key Responsibilities

1) Site Supervision & Execution

• Supervise and lead site teams for Electrical containment, cabling, termination, testing support, and HVAC ducting & piping installation.
• Allocate manpower and daily tasks to ensure smooth workflow and productivity.
• Ensure installation is carried out as per IFC drawings, approved shop drawings, and method statements.
• Provide guidance to technicians and subcontractors to ensure correct workmanship and adherence to installation tolerances.

2) Electrical Works Supervision

• Supervise installation of:
• Cable trays, trunking, conduits, GI/PVC conduits, supports.
• LV/MV cabling, pulling, glanding, termination, and dressing.
• Earthing, bonding, lighting, power outlets, panel connections.
• Ensure correct work procedures for isolation, tagging, and safe work practices.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections and testing preparation.

3) HVAC Ducting & Ventilation Works

• Supervise installation of:
• Supply/return/exhaust ductwork.
• Fire-rated ducts where required.
• Dampers (VCD/FD/SD), access doors, flexible connections.
• Acoustic lining and insulation works.
• Ensure correct duct routing, supports, leakage class compliance, and SMACNA standards.
• Coordinate duct pressure testing and consultant inspections.

4) HVAC & Mechanical Piping Works

• Supervise installation of:
• Chilled water piping, condenser water piping (if applicable).
• Copper piping (refrigerant) for VRF/VRV systems.
• Domestic water supply, drainage, vent, and storm systems (as applicable).
• Ensure correct welding/brazing, alignment, slope, and pressure testing readiness.
• Monitor pipe supports, hangers, sleeves, and penetrations coordination with civil/architectural works.

5) Coordination & Interface Management

• Coordinate with:
• Civil/architectural teams for openings, embedments, and sleeves.
• Other MEP disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure coordinated installation.
• Subcontractors, suppliers, and site logistics team for material availability.
• Attend daily coordination meetings and provide progress updates.

6) Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure all works comply with:
• UAE/Abu Dhabi regulations, local authority requirements.
• Project specifications, approved materials, and standards (e.g., SMACNA, ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, BS).
• Support QA/QC inspections (RFI submissions), mockups, and consultant walkthroughs.
• Identify quality issues and implement corrective actions immediately.

7) Safety, HSE & Permit Compliance

• Strictly enforce project HSE rules and toolbox talks.
• Ensure PPE compliance, proper housekeeping, and safe lifting practices.
• Implement risk controls and comply with PTW (Permit to Work) systems including:
• Hot work permits
• Working at height permits
• Confined space entry permits
• Report incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.

8) Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily labor allocation and work progress records.
• Assist engineers in:
• Material requests and tracking
• As-built preparation support
• Installation checklists and test records
• Monitor work completion against schedule and highlight constraints early.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Electrical + HVAC + ducting + piping installation processes.
• Ability to interpret IFC/shop drawings, coordination drawings, and schematic diagrams.
• Familiarity with testing and commissioning preparation (pressure tests, insulation tests, continuity tests).
• Strong leadership, workforce control, and communication skills.
• Able to work under tight timelines on large-scale projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma / ITI / Technical Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
• 8–12 years of MEP construction experience including at least 3–5 years as a Foreman on major projects (UAE preferred).
• Experience in Mega Projects (High-rise, airports, hospitals, ADNOC / infrastructure, large developments) is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and inspection requirements.
• Basic computer skills (email, reporting, and simple tracking).
