Job Summary

The MEP Quality Control (QC) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable codes and standards. The role involves inspections, testing, documentation, and coordination with site teams, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Control & Inspection

  • Review approved MEP shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections of MEP works (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, ELV).
  • Ensure installation complies with approved drawings, specifications, and international/local standards.
  • Identify non-conformances and issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) when required.
  • Verify corrective and preventive actions and ensure closure of NCRs.

Testing & Commissioning

  • Witness and verify MEP testing activities (pressure tests, insulation resistance, functional tests, balancing, etc.).
  • Coordinate with testing & commissioning teams and consultants.
  • Ensure all test results are documented and approved.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain QA/QC records including:
  • Inspection Request (IR) reports
  • Test reports
  • Material approval records
  • As-built documentation
  • Prepare daily/weekly quality reports and submit to QA/QC Manager.
  • Assist in final handover documentation and O&M manuals.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Attend quality meetings and site coordination meetings.
  • Provide technical support to site teams to resolve quality-related issues.

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Project specifications and contract documents
  • Local authority regulations
  • International standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, BS, ASTM, etc.)
  • Promote quality awareness and best practices on site.

Qualifications & ExperienceEducation

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Building Services Engineering
  • Or related discipline

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years experience as an MEP QC Engineer in construction projects.
  • Experience in high-rise buildings, commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
