The MEP Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the operations of a facility or building. Responsibilities may vary depending on organizational needs and facility type, but generally include the following key areas:
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of facilities management staff, including technicians, maintenance personnel, and support staff.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team operates efficiently and effectively.
- Oversee the execution of maintenance and repair activities for building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance to ensure optimal facility performance.
- Identify corrective maintenance needs and assign tasks to appropriate team members.
- Manage and schedule the team to address customer-raised CM/EM complaints promptly.
- Coordinate procurement of required materials from stores or suppliers for maintenance activities.
- Liaise with external vendors and contractors for specialized services, repairs, and projects.
- Oversee AMC service providers, ensuring work meets quality standards.
- Ensure proper handling, usage, and accountability of tools and materials by team members.
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and relevant standards.
- Implement and uphold safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Act as a liaison between facility management, other departments, and building occupants.
- Communicate maintenance schedules, updates, and changes to the Line Manager.
- Monitor and ensure the quality of maintenance and repair work performed by the team or contractors.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes for all facility operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and related documentation.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by management.
- Oversee the use of technology, including CMMS, to streamline facility management processes.
- Identify training needs and facilitate training programs for team members reporting to the Line Manager.
- Ensure staff have the necessary skills, knowledge, PPE, tools, and equipment to perform their tasks efficiently.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the facilities management team.
- Implement best practices to enhance overall team performance and facility operations.
