MEP Technical Manager / Construction Manager

  • Technical Leadership & Planning:

– Core Knowledge in HVAC (Ducting & Chiller) systems.

– Lead the technical planning, sequencing, and execution strategy for all MEP disciplines (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Chiller, and Firefighting) across the project.

– Review and validate shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical specifications prior to submission to the consultant/client.

– Ensure constructability reviews are conducted and design coordination clashes (via BIM/2D coordination) are resolved proactively.

  • Construction Execution & Site Management:

– Oversee day-to-day MEP site operations, ensuring works progress as per the approved project schedule (baseline and look-ahead programs).

– Monitor manpower allocation, equipment deployment, and subcontractor performance across all MEP disciplines.

– Drive daily/weekly site progress reporting, work allocation, and productivity tracking; address bottlenecks and resource constraints promptly.

– Ensure installation checklists, inspection requests (IRs), and quality checkpoints are completed and closed out for each work package (e.g., FCU installation, ducting, piping, cabling).

  • Quality, Safety & Compliance:

– Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies, UAE construction regulations, and project-specific QA/QC procedures on site.

– Ensure non-conformance reports (NCRs) and snag items are tracked, root-caused, and closed within agreed timelines.

– Coordinate testing & commissioning (T&C) activities for all MEP systems, ensuring readiness for handover.

  • Stakeholder Coordination:

– Act as the primary technical point of contact with the main contractor ) and client representatives

– Attend and lead technical/coordination meetings, progress meetings, and MEP interface coordination with other trades.

– Liaise with consultants for design clarifications, RFIs, and approval of variations or value engineering proposals.

  • Cost, Procurement & Resource Management:

– Work closely with procurement and store teams to ensure timely availability of materials, tools, and equipment for site activities.

– Monitor project budget for MEP scope, control wastage, and support cost-control initiatives.

– Support manpower planning in coordination with HR & Admin, including subcontractor mobilization and labor deployment across disciplines.

  • Team Leadership & Development:

– Supervise, mentor, and develop MEP engineers, supervisors, and site foremen; conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.

– Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement among site teams.

  • Reporting & Documentation:

– Prepare and present regular progress, technical, and management reports to senior leadership and clients.

– Maintain accurate technical documentation, as-built records, and project close-out documentation.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical
  • PMP, or equivalent Project/Construction Management certification preferred.
  • Membership in a recognized engineering body (e.g., PEO, IET, ASHRAE) is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive experience in MEP construction and contracting, with at least 5 years in a Technical/Construction Management role.
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale residential, hospitality, or mixed-use MEP projects in the UAE/GCC region.
  • Strong experience coordinating with main contractors, consultants, and client representatives on high-value projects.
  • Experience with Testing & Commissioning of HVAC, Chiller, Electrical, Plumbing, and Firefighting systems.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge across all MEP disciplines (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting, Chiller Systems).
  • Proficiency in project scheduling tools (Primavera P6 / MS Project) and BIM coordination platforms (Navisworks/Revit) preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of UAE construction codes, DEWA/Civil Defense regulations, and international MEP standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and site reporting tools.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); Arabic or Hindi/Malayalam an advantage for site-level communication.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Adherence to project schedule (planned vs. actual progress).
  • Quality compliance – NCR closure rate and rework percentage.
  • HSE performance – zero lost-time incidents (LTI), safety audit scores.
  • Timely closure of RFIs, submittals, and inspection requests.
  • Cost control – adherence to approved MEP budget and minimization of variation overruns.
  • Client and main contractor satisfaction feedback.

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
