MEP Technician - Interior

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MEP Technician – Interior to support the maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within interior spaces. This role focuses on ensuring all MEP systems function optimally and comply with safety standards, particularly in relation to interior fit-out, furniture, partitions, ceiling systems, HVAC, lighting, and plumbing fixtures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of MEP systems in interior areas (e.g. offices, meeting rooms, lobbies, restrooms, etc.).
• Install and maintain lighting, power outlets, HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, fire alarms, and other interior system components.
• Collaborate with civil and interior teams to support fit-out and refurbishment projects, ensuring MEP works are properly integrated.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical faults related to interior systems.
• Ensure proper cabling, conduit routing, HVAC duct placement, and plumbing pipework to avoid conflicts with interior finishes and furniture.
• Read and interpret MEP and interior layout drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service tickets.
• Assist in commissioning and testing of newly installed MEP systems.
• Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with local codes and standards.
• Maintain daily logs, records, and service reports.

Requirements:

• Technical Diploma or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in MEP maintenance or installation, preferably within commercial or high-end interior environments.
• Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems.
• Ability to read and understand MEP & interior layout drawings.
• Experience working in interior fit-out projects is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of BMS (Building Management Systems) is preferred.
• Familiarity with health & safety practices in facility maintenance.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
