MEP Technician - Real Estate

Job Summary

Al Marwan Developments is seeking a skilled and reliable MEP Technician with experience in residential or commercial projects. The role involves installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, ensuring systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with technical standards. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of coordinating with multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the MEP Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot MEP systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire-fighting, and related systems.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications accurately.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure smooth operation of MEP systems and reduce breakdowns.

  • Inspect and test MEP systems to ensure compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.

  • Coordinate with procurement, storekeepers, and maintenance teams to ensure availability and suitability of MEP materials and components.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and service reports.

  • Identify defects, malfunctions, or non-conforming materials and take corrective actions promptly.

  • Support audits, compliance checks, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Utilize computer systems for documentation, reporting, and data entry.

  • Assist with ad-hoc tasks to support MEP operations and project requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant engineering field (preferred).

  • 2–4 years of experience as an MEP Technician in residential or commercial projects.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire-fighting systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Reliable, honest, and able to make unbiased operational decisions.

  • Proficient in computer usage; familiarity with maintenance management software is an advantage.

  • Good communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • UAE experience preferred.
