Merchandise & Apparel Designer

Job Summary

The Merchandise & Apparel Designer is responsible for designing apparel collections while coordinating with merchandising, production, and sourcing teams to ensure commercially viable, trend-driven, and timely product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design seasonal apparel collections aligned with brand identity and market trends
• Develop design concepts, mood boards, color palettes, and fabric selections
• Coordinate with merchandising teams on product range planning and pricing
• Create detailed tech packs, sketches, and specifications for production
• Work closely with sampling, sourcing, and production teams
• Ensure designs meet cost, quality, and timeline requirements
• Analyze sales data and market feedback to improve future collections
• Conduct trend research and competitor analysis
• Support fittings, approvals, and final production sign-offs

Qualifications

• Degree / Diploma in Fashion Design or Apparel Design
• 0–4 years of experience in apparel design and merchandising
• Experience in retail, export house, or fashion brand preferred

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment construction
• Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD)
• Understanding of merchandising, costing, and production processes
• Trend forecasting and market awareness
• Good communication and coordination skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
