Job Summary

The Metal Fabricator Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all fabrication activities within the workshop and at project sites. The role ensures that structural steel and architectural metal works are fabricated in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and scheduled timelines. The foreman will lead fabrication teams, monitor productivity, and maintain strict adherence to safety and quality requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupervision & Production

• Supervise daily fabrication activities including cutting, welding, drilling, grinding, fitting, and assembly of metal components.
• Lead and manage fabricators, welders, fitters, grinders, and helpers to achieve production targets.
• Assign tasks and monitor workforce productivity and workmanship quality.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, IFC drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure proper utilization of machinery, tools, and workshop equipment.
• Monitor fabrication progress and ensure timely completion of work.

Quality Control

• Ensure fabrication works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, and quality standards.
• Verify fit-up alignment, dimensions, welding quality, and finishing works before inspection.
• Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors for stage inspections and approvals.
• Identify fabrication defects or non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain high standards for structural steel and architectural metal works fabrication.

Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate fabrication schedules with production, engineering, and project teams.
• Ensure availability of raw materials, consumables, tools, and equipment before commencing work.
• Coordinate with procurement and store teams regarding material shortages or requirements.
• Support site teams by coordinating fabricated material delivery and installation requirements.
• Assist in resolving technical and fabrication-related issues.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Enforce workshop and site safety regulations and company HSE procedures.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings regularly.
• Ensure all workers use appropriate PPE and follow safe working practices.
• Monitor safe operation of welding machines, cutting equipment, cranes, and power tools.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.

Reporting

• Prepare and submit daily production and manpower reports.
• Report fabrication progress, delays, technical issues, and material shortages to management.
• Track productivity and monitor work completion against planned schedules.

Requirements

• Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical, Fabrication, Welding, or related field.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in steel fabrication or architectural metal works.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and welding processes (MIG, TIG, ARC).
• Ability to read and interpret technical and fabrication drawings.
• Experience in UAE/GCC construction and fabrication projects preferred.
• Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Knowledge of workshop safety standards and fabrication quality procedures.

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
