Metal Fabricator Welder

Walliefab is a small architectural metals company out of Oklahoma City primarily working in the commercial sphere. We build lots of railings, awnings, stairs, signs, and light fixtures. Walliefab prides itself in its ability to build ornate and intricate things along with more simple items. Roles & Responsibilities:

Fabricators are required to:

  • Have 3+ years of experience
  • Represent Walliefab and their team well when around clients or other team members
  • Treat others with respect and dignity
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Be flexible if plans need to deviate from a set plan regarding scope or location of work
  • If assigned a shop key, be responsible for keeping track of it and both locking & unlocking the doors when needed
  • Arrive at work at the agreed upon times with project lead
  • Whether the day begins at the shop or at the jobsite will be determined on a case by case basis
  • Be able to read and interpret shop drawings and architectural drawings
  • Operate with caution and safety at all times wearing all appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by OSHA standards
  • Be able to use heavy machinery including but not limited to: Forklifts, manlifts, telehandlers, & duct jacks
  • Although Walliefab primarily works with steel, fabricators must be prepared and willing to work with other materials as well including but not limited to: wood, aluminum, paint & other finishes
  • Be proficient in stick and mig welding with at least a 3g certificate
  • Have an understanding of setup and maintenance of the following: Mig welders, stick welders (both generator and plug-in), band saws, chops saws, angle grinders, and drill presses
  • Must be able to troubleshoot basic machine issues and correct as needed
  • A willingness to run errands related to completing projects
  • Construction tolerances within Walliefab’s scope of work are within ±1/16”
  • Fabricators must be willing to correct their mistakes and potentially the mistakes of their teammates with a positive attitude

Structure:

  • Pay will be based on an hourly wage basis
  • This position will be structured as a W2 employee
  • Typical business hours are 7am – 3:30pm with a 30 minute allotted lunch
  • Business hours subject to change
  • Work will be conducted both in the shop and out on jobsites throughout the Oklahoma City metro. When projects are outside of the metro employees will be compensated for mileage and travel per Walliefab's mileage reimbursement policy.
  • If employee will be unavailable for work we require that you let your project lead know 2 weeks in advance
  • This is considered a full-time at will position; meaning, fabricators can quit at any time and Walliefab can terminate an employee at any time for any reason without needing to provide notice or reason. Walliefab does request at least a 2 week notice if an employee decides to terminate their employment
  • Fabricators will be paid on a weekly basis every Friday by 5pm by check or other agreed upon method of commerce
  • If paid by check, fabricators are expected to pick-up their check at the Walliefab shop
  • Fabricators will use Walliefab’s tools and equipment and are not permitted to use personal tools without prior permission from their project lead
  • If specific tools or equipment are needed to do a job properly, fabricators are to make their request to their project lead
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) to be supplied by Walliefab
  • Fabricators are responsible for knowing current OSHA safety standards and requirements
  • No insurance, health, vacation, or holiday benefits are offered at this time
  • 30 and 90 day reviews will be conducted after contract commencement.
  • Fabricators must have a valid driver’s license, be fluent in English, and be authorized to work in the USA.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
