Job Description - Metrology Technician ()

Job Purpose:

As a Technician / Trainer Type II, you will be responsible for implementing the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) and Saudi National Technical Training Program (SNTTP). Your role involves training RSAF/SNTTP Trainee Technicians from Skill Level 3 to Skill Level 7, following RSAF policies, procedures, and directives. You will ensure effective training delivery and outcomes using best practices.

You will mentor newly qualified RSAF and Saudi National Technicians within the Secondary Calibration Squadron (SCS), Dhahran, serving as a first-level knowledge expert in Mechanical or Electrical measurement areas. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing advice and guidance to Metrology Technicians on an ongoing and as-needed basis.

Your responsibilities include performing calibration, adjustments, alignments, repairs, and maintenance of Test, Measuring and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) related to aircraft, weapons, aerospace ground equipment, and standard support equipment, in accordance with RSAF standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You must manage resources to accomplish tasks efficiently, maintaining laboratory standards, and staying current with metrology methodologies. You will assist with training program implementation, ensure a clean and safe working environment, and deputize for supervisors when required. Additionally, you will provide technical advice, knowledge transfer, and safety guidance to RSAF and SN technicians.

Recruitment Specification:

You should have at least an Ordinary National Certificate or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields. Formal training in calibration, repair, and alignment of TMDE is required, with practical experience in calibration and repair of TMDE, especially in military aircraft systems support. Familiarity with RSAF manuals, ISO 17025, and metrology standards is essential.

You must demonstrate managerial and engineering judgment, communication skills, integrity, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. The role requires proactive resource planning, organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to build effective relationships within RSAF.
