Job Description - Metrology Technician (Calibration) Electrical ()

JOB PURPOSEBAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor (PC) under the Government-to-Government arrangements to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We maintain Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF personnel in aircraft, equipment, and weapons usage. This role involves applying measurement science, mathematics, physics, and engineering principles to design, develop, and implement calibration processes for electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental, and chemical Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). It includes analyzing calibration problems, utilizing statistics and measurement uncertainty, developing software, recommending standards, maintaining laboratory and quality systems, and performing administrative tasks.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIESAs a Technician / Trainer Type II, you will implement RSAF and SNTTP training programs, training RSAF/SNTTP Trainee Technicians from Skill Level 3 to 7, ensuring resource optimization and training excellence. You will mentor newly qualified RSAF and Saudi National technicians within the Secondary Calibration Squadron (SCS), acting as a subject matter expert in mechanical or electrical measurement areas and providing ongoing advice and guidance.
You will perform calibration, adjustments, alignments, repairs, and maintenance on TMDE related to aircraft, weapons, aerospace ground equipment, and support equipment, following RSAF standards and manuals.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesQualifications include at least an Ordinary National Certificate or equivalent in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related fields, with a minimum of 4 years formal training in calibration, repair, and alignment of TMDE. Candidates should have at least five years of practical experience with TMDE calibration and repair, familiarity with RSAF manuals, and a good understanding of ISO 17025. Strong managerial, engineering judgment, communication skills, and computer literacy are essential.
