Scope:
-
To consult, coordinate, evaluate and execute analyses and measuring activities, performed in day time for all the operational sectors in accordance with the directions given by the Quality Control supervisor.

To guide and consult chemist I and chemist II on skill matrix based on base, key, pacing and emerging technology, skill and knowledge.
-
To lead development and implementation of testing methods including selection and purchase of new equipment, training, quality control, documentations, maintenance and troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
To conduct training and minor troubleshooting on test equipment and other instrumentation.
PRINCIPAL TASKS TO FULFIL:

has experience in all type of Gas Chromatography and related analysis to MFC Mix Feed Cracker plant

Provides specialist advice and assistance on all matters pertaining to his field of technical expertise as it impacts the Satorp’s utilities and processes.

Undertakes original investigative studies to resolve technical problems outside the scope of available literature.
-
Prepares papers and/or manuals setting forth results of his studies, and recommends corrections or other appropriate action to apply the results of the work.

Keeps current with significant developments in his field of specialization and applies these developments to solving problems. He is expected to make periodic visits to operating plants, and attend professional and industrial society meetings.

Conducts seminars and presentations for involved personnel in areas of his principal contacts relating to the resolution of technical problems.

Maintains and updates his working knowledge of applicable state-of- the-art research instrumentation as it may relate to his work.

Performs other miscellaneous related duties as requested.

Develop and implement statistical quality control program and maintain records
-
Maintain procedures, QC charts, reference standards etc as per ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Management Systems

Support test run analyses, analytical studies and method development and modifications, as needed.
-
Promote and develop products on-line quality certification criteria.
-
Discuss regularly with On-Stream Analyzer team to identify and eliminate any deviations between the OSA and Laboratory analyzer results.
-
Train, develop and monitor performance of Lab staff to build capabilities for handling various analytical tasks and update them on the latest analytical techniques.

Support the division goals in implementing performance enhancement initiatives
-
Propose modifications, new technology, participate in the review and provide support for all technical enhancements required in the area.

Prepare reports on technical studies carried out in the Laboratory.

Stop the work when a non-conformance is noticed or a deviation from the approved procedures, recommend and implement solutions as needed. Inform the concerned entities (Areas) in case of unexpected/out-of-limit lab results.

Stand-in for the other senior chemists during vacations and extended absences, assuming all technical responsibilities.

Technical evaluation for the procurement of new Lab equipment, planning of spares and consumables.
-
Evaluate bids for technical acceptability of Lab. equipment, glassware and chemicals.
-
Comply with all SATORP environmental health and safety regulations. Attend/present monthly safety meetings.

Experience with chemo-metrics modelling analysis.
FUNCTION REQUIREMENTS
:
-
Bachelor's degree in chemistry.
-
Degree in a relevant discipline and at least 8 years of practical experience as a Senior Chemist
-
(10+) years of analytical experience in Petrochemical lab, of which at least five (5) years in a similar position.
