MGH - Commercial Sub-Assembly

This position will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, Alabama .

SUMMARY:

Performs repetitive line assembly operations to mass-produce commercial burners, combustion assemblies and/or electrical panels aided by using hand tools, pneumatic tools, jigs and fixtures as well as quality inspection tools such as torque wrenches and go/no go gauges.


  • RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned per company’s needs.

  • Interprets QMS documentation such as work instructions, control plans and visual aids and follow them accordingly.
  • Places parts in specified relationship to each other.
  • Bolts, clips, screws, or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Interpret part prints and electrical schematics.
  • Exercises good judgment to ensure correct positioning of parts and tools, and repairing or rejecting faulty parts.
  • Must be able to operate spot welding equipment (including but not limited to temperature settings, changing weld tips, etc.) to fabricate parts according to specifications, with the possible use of simple fixtures/jigs.
  • Must be able to meet requirements of the production lines.
  • Responsible for identifying, but not reporting, daily scrap.
  • Performs inspections on units or parts for defects and workmanship.
  • Works at different workstations as production needs require.
  • Work efficiently to complete tasks from written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Adheres to all safety and work rules, company policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean work area.
  • Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.
  • Perform other related duties as required by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to be self-directed and organized, requiring little supervision.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to heavy traffic of power trucks (forklifts). The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud (greater than 80 decibel).
