Summary:
We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage ongoing application release cycles. This individual will oversee two critical applications — one with higher delivery volume — ensuring seamless planning, execution, and delivery of monthly enhancements across development, testing, and deployment phases. The ideal candidate has a strong background in application development project management, agile delivery, and release coordination, with the ability to balance structure, communication, and hands-on execution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Release Management & Execution
- Oversee monthly, off-cycle, and dependency-driven releases for two or more applications.
- Manage release scope and ensure alignment with business priorities.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and production deployment activities.
- Track dependencies, risks, and issues to ensure on-time delivery.
- Support defect prioritization, resolution, and continuous process improvements.
Planning & Coordination
- Create and manage JIRA tickets for all release activities.
- Capture requirements and validate details with requestors (issues, impacts, feasibility).
- Facilitate release and scope lock meetings to finalize delivery content.
- Support capacity planning and level-of-effort (LOE) management with the Release Team.
- Participate in PI Planning and assist with roadmap visibility.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
- Partner with Business and IT stakeholders to ensure release readiness and visibility.
- Lead sprint ceremonies (stand-ups, retrospectives, demos) as needed.
- Provide weekly and monthly leadership status updates.
- Coordinate timesheets and task tracking for team members without dedicated PM coverage.
- Escalate and help resolve blockers impacting release execution.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement process enhancements related to release cadence and JIRA workflows.
- Drive alignment on agile delivery best practices and documentation.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Lead in application development or IT delivery.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC processes.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA, release management, and agile planning tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage concurrent releases and dependencies across teams.
- PMP, CSM, or related certification preferred.
