Location: Government site (Fort Meade area)
Schedule: Full-time, day shift
Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required)

Here's What Your Day-to-Day Might Look Like

You’ll work alongside a collaborative engineering team modernizing a complex legacy system into a microservices architecture. Expect a mix of hands-on development, cloud engineering, and continuous delivery work.

Typical activities include:

  • Designing and building Java Spring Boot microservices deployed on AWS

  • Developing RESTful APIs capable of handling complex data selection and filtering

  • Leveraging Python to automate and optimize cloud services such as Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, and S3

  • Implementing CI/CD pipelines using Maven, GitLab, and GitOps practices

  • Supporting containerized deployments and cloud-native architectures

  • Participating in Agile ceremonies and delivering incremental software updates

  • Collaborating closely with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to refine requirements and solutions

  • Ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability across distributed services

Minimum Qualifications

Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required)
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience, OR

  • Master’s degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience

Required Background:

  • Experience working with AWS services such as S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, and CloudWatch

Required Skills

Candidates should possess experience in at least three of the following areas:

  • Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python development

  • Microservices architecture design and implementation

  • CI/CD tools and processes including AWS tooling, Maven, GitLab, GitOps, Kubernetes, Docker, or Ansible

  • NoSQL database technologies such as MongoDB or DynamoDB, including query development and schema design

  • OAuth or OIDC implementation experience

  • Automated testing frameworks and tools such as Cypress or Cucumber

Desired Skills

  • Experience modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native architectures

  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable service design

  • Familiarity with container orchestration and DevOps best practices

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced mission environment

Technology Stack

This role leverages Java Spring Boot microservices, Python automation, AWS cloud services including Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, and CloudWatch, RESTful APIs, Maven build tools, GitLab and GitOps pipelines, container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, configuration tools like Ansible, and automated testing frameworks including Cypress and Cucumber.

Compensation Range: $184,000.00 - $236,000.00
  • The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
