Microsoft 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Part Time /Contract

We are currently recruiting a D365 Business Central Functional Advisor / Consultant (Finance, Projects & GCC Payroll, Tax / VAT Configuration as FTA) for a reputed organization in the UAE.

This is a strategic advisory role focused on governance, compliance, and ERP best-practice guidance for critical finance, project accounting, payroll, and tax functions.

Key Responsibilities

ERP Functional Advisory - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

  • Provide expert-level functional guidance on solution design and best practices within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Review and validate configurations, workflows, and process structures
  • Ensure Finance, Projects, and Payroll modules align with enterprise ERP standards
  • Advise on governance frameworks, scalability, controls, and process optimization
  • Support leadership teams with strategic ERP direction and transformation planning
Finance Advisory (Core Focus)
  • Guide setup of Chart of Accounts, dimensions, posting groups, and financial structures
  • Recommend best practices for month-end closing, reconciliations, and audit readiness
  • Advise on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow visibility processes
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Tax Authority VAT regulations and reporting standards
  • Review reporting structures for management decision-making and board reporting
  • Support alignment with IFRS Foundation standards
Project / Job Costing Advisory
  • Provide guidance on project accounting and job costing structures within Business Central
  • Recommend best practices for WIP, revenue recognition, and profitability tracking
  • Ensure project operations align with financial reporting requirements
  • Develop reporting models for project performance, margins, and variance analysis
GCC / UAE Payroll Advisory (Critical Focus)
  • Advise on UAE and GCC payroll frameworks, governance, and statutory compliance
  • Ensure payroll setup aligns with Wages Protection System (WPS) requirements
  • Guide salary structures including basic salary, allowances, deductions, and gratuity
  • Ensure alignment with MOHRE labour law requirements
  • Review end-of-service benefit calculations and gratuity processes
  • Recommend payroll integrations with Business Central or third-party payroll systems
  • Support multi-country payroll models common across GCC organizations
  • Ensure payroll reporting and audit readiness standards are maintained
Governance & Quality Assurance
  • Act as independent reviewer for ERP design decisions and functional configurations
  • Identify risks, inefficiencies, and compliance gaps
  • Provide structured recommendations for optimization and improvement
  • Participate in steering committee discussions with senior stakeholders when required
Stakeholder Advisory
  • Serve as trusted SME advisor to Finance, HR, and Project leadership teams
  • Support governance of ERP transformation and future-state operating models
Qualifications & Experience
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in functional advisory / consulting roles
  • Strong expertise in Finance modules (mandatory)
  • Deep understanding of UAE / GCC Payroll systems, WPS, Labour Law, and VAT regulations
  • Proven experience advising on ERP programs in the Middle East region
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT compliance, and payroll governance frameworks
  • Ability to operate in a senior advisory / board-level consulting capacity
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Preferred Experience
  • Multiple ERP advisory or transformation projects across GCC markets
  • Exposure to multi-country payroll structures within GCC organizations
  • Experience in construction, trading, contracting, or services sectors in UAE
  • Strong executive presentation and advisory communication skills
