We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Migration Specialist to plan, execute, and support migrations of enterprise workloads to Microsoft platforms. This role involves migrating on-premises environments including Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, and file servers to Microsoft 365, Azure, or newer Microsoft server technologies, while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess current infrastructure and create detailed migration strategies and timelines.
- Lead migrations of email (Exchange/Outlook), collaboration tools (SharePoint/Teams), Active Directory, and file services to Microsoft 365 or Azure.
- Perform discovery, readiness assessments, and pilot migrations before full rollout.
- Configure and manage Microsoft 365 tenants, Azure subscriptions, identity synchronization (AAD Connect), and security settings.
- Execute mailbox moves, data transfers, and cutovers with minimal downtime.
- Coordinate with networking, security, and application teams to ensure a seamless transition.
- Provide post-migration validation, troubleshooting, and user support.
- Develop and maintain documentation: architecture diagrams, migration runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies such as:
- Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive)
- Azure AD, AAD Connect, Intune
- Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy
- Proven track record of planning and delivering large-scale Microsoft migrations (on-prem to Microsoft 365 or Azure).
- Strong understanding of networking (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls), identity management, and security best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-100/101)
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
- ITIL Foundation or similar service-management certification.
