The Opportunity:
Join a high-performing Federal IT program delivering mission-critical solutions through modern design and low-code innovation. We’re seeking an experienced Microsoft Power Platform UI/UX Designer to lead user-centered design efforts across an enterprise Power Platform ecosystem.
This role will shape the digital experience of Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate workflows, and related Microsoft 365 solutions, ensuring applications are intuitive, accessible, secure, and compliant with federal standards. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, solution architects, product owners, and stakeholders to transform complex business processes into seamless, efficient, and engaging user experiences that advance the agency’s mission.

Responsibilities:

Lead the end-to-end design and enhancement of Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven) applications, Power Pages, and Power Platform portals.

Translate business and functional requirements into user-centered design concepts, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes aligned with project goals and federal branding standards.

Conduct user research, usability testing, journey mapping, and heuristic evaluations to inform design decisions and improve adoption.

Collaborate with Power Platform developers to ensure alignment between UI/UX design, and technical implementation.

Ensure compliance with Section 508, and U.S. federal design best practices (e.g., US Web Design System (USWDS) where applicable).

Design and maintain a reusable Power Platform design system, component libraries, style guides, and governance patterns.

Optimize layouts, forms, dashboards, and workflows for responsiveness and performance across desktop and mobile devices.

Leverage Microsoft ecosystem tools (SharePoint Online, Teams, Dynamics 365 integration, Azure AD) to create cohesive digital experiences.

Analyze user analytics and feedback to drive iterative enhancements and improve user satisfaction metrics.

Prepare design documentation, SOPs, governance guidelines, and training materials for government and contractor teams.

Support demonstrations, stakeholder briefings, and change management efforts to ensure successful deployment and adoption.
Qualifications:
Required:
-
U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD).

Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.

8–10+ years of progressive experience in UI/UX design, digital product design, or front-end development.

3+ years of hands-on experience designing solutions within Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Pages, Dataverse).

Strong understanding of low-code UX patterns, responsive design, and accessibility in Microsoft environments.

Experience designing Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps, including forms, views, dashboards, and workflows.

Familiarity with Dataverse data modeling and how UX design impacts business logic and automation flows.

Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.

Excellent communication skills and experience interfacing with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Desired:

Experience supporting federal agencies in Agile environments.

Familiarity with USWDS and federal digital standards.

Experience implementing governance frameworks and Center of Excellence (CoE) best practices for Power Platform.

Knowledge of Azure integrations and security models within Microsoft 365 GCC or GCC High environments.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$103,800 - $218,100
