We are seeking a MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (Transportation) with 1+ years of relevant experience who is interested in quickly contributing and thriving in a fast-pace, positive, mutually supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with engineers and designers to ensure coordinated design systems.
- Prepare plans, profiles and detail drawings in MicroStation OpenRoads for transportation projects (roadway, traffic, drainage, utilities).
- Prepare detailed Exhibits in MicroStation OpenRoads using sketches, notes and input from the Project Manager. Ability to transfer the information to final construction plans.
- Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names, line styles, drawings and file names for layout sheets.
- Develop construction drawings showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles and cross-sections for project submittals.
- Ability to identify specific information from data and written information such as legal descriptions, reports, survey notes, manuals, standards and specifications.
- Calculate quantities of materials from construction plans.
- Complete redline mark ups.
Qualifications:
- Strong OpenRoads and MicroStation V8i /MicroStation Connect experience required.
- AutoCAD, InRoads, GEOPAK, Civil 3D, and ProjectWise experience desired.
- Experience in transportation/roadway engineering plan production.
- Experience preparing drawings for TxDOT projects desired.
- GIS experience is a plus.
- Must have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and will and capable to assume additional responsibilities.
- Interest in learning about large complex, high pressure projects.
- Comfortable operating in a team-oriented, collaborative, fast paced work environment, as well as working independently.
- Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis.
- Must be able to produce accurate and timely results while maintaining a customer service attitude.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ years relevant experience.
This is an in-person position. Salary will be determined based on experience.
