Mid-Level Associate


Tahan | Cem is strengthening its international disputes practice and is seeking a mid-level associate with a demonstrable track record in high-value, cross-border arbitration. The successful candidate will join a team trusted by leading Turkish and international clients to act on strategically significant matters across a wide range of institutional rules. The position offers direct exposure to major arbitral proceedings and the opportunity to work closely with clients operating in diverse sectors.

While experience in commercial contracts, construction law and technology/IT matters will be considered valuable assets, the core requirement for this role is solid, hands-on experience in international arbitration.


Key Responsibilities


  • Acting as counsel in institutional and ad hoc arbitration proceedings (ICC, LCIA, ICSID, ISTAC, UNCITRAL)
  • Managing all phases of arbitral work, including case strategy, drafting submissions, evidence and document management, and procedural coordination
  • Advising clients on dispute avoidance, settlement considerations and pre-arbitral strategies
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial transactions and agreements (construction, services, technology and cross-border contracts), where relevant
  • Working collaboratively on multi-jurisdictional matters across different practice groups
  • Contributing to internal know-how, client briefings and thought-leadership initiatives


Candidate Profile


  • Minimum 4 years PQE with proven experience in international arbitration
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Strong legal drafting and analytical skills
  • Experience with cross-border matters or foreign-law governed disputes
  • Confident communicator with a client-focused approach
  • Willingness to travel for hearings or international engagements
  • Experience in commercial transactions, contracts, construction law (including FIDIC) or IT law is an advantage
