HLP Integration is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Mid - Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) with a Veteran first vision to transform the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) with greater visibility into claims processing. Your Role:

As Mid. Business Analyst supporting the UCAP solution within the Data Reporting and Metrics team, you’ll serve as a critical bridge between mission stakeholders and Tableau Data engineers. This position will support a variety of UCAP program metrics, and reporting being developed within Tableau. Your roll included functions ranging from elicitation of business requirements from stakeholders and swiveling to translate those business requirements into technical requirements with ownership to delivery. You will lead requirements and contributions to the business needs into delivered capabilities and help shape system improvements that deliver measurable outcomes for VBA claims processing.

You will work closely with the Tableau Data Reporting and Metrics project management teams, stakeholders, project delivery teams, application teams (iCONECT, Pega, etc.), and the operations team, with a focus on partnering with the IT and Production teams to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements & Analysis

- Gather, document, and refine business and functional requirements.

- Map current and future-state processes and identify improvement opportunities.

- Translate needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and testable outcomes.

- Lead prioritization of business epics and use cases for product and customer requirements.

- Channel, organize and deliver on external asks from VA, and program partners into the program framework, preventing unclear assignments or duplication (e.g., direct JIRA tasking).

- Create and implement project plans with customers, and support Tableau development and tracking of configurations.

- Monitors adoption and usage to ensure the solution is being fully leveraged.

- Provide requirements to support the design and development of interactive Tableau dashboards using advanced charts to visualize key performance indicators.

- Support data engineering team to build and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load structured and unstructured data into scalable AWS-based data platforms.

- Document the design and optimize data architectures using AWS services like Glue, Redshift, S3, Athena, and RDS.

- Enforce and align data governance, security, and quality policies in accordance with VA standards.

- Support requirements for data ingestion from legacy systems and external partners, including OCR, APIs, and flat files.

- Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to support advanced analytics and ML initiatives.

Delivery Planning & Execution

- Build and manage delivery plans, sprint schedules, and release timelines.

- Coordinate cross-functional teams and remove delivery blockers.

- Track progress, manage risks, and ensure adherence to product delivery life cycle and governance.

- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, refine backlogs, and translate program needs into actionable technical requirements.

- Coordinate Programs' deliverables execution across all partners keeping all teams on task and accountable to program priorities.

- Coordinates with Program and Project Management on delivery alignment.

Quality & Validation

- Support test planning, UAT, and validation of delivered features.

- Ensure solutions meet business objectives and compliance standards.

Stakeholder Communication

- Provide structured updates to leadership and project teams.

- Facilitate decision-making, manage scope changes, and maintain alignment across teams.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify process gaps and drive operational enhancements.

- Promote best practices across analysis, delivery, and team collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, related field, engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience gathering and documenting business, functional, or technical requirement, within a federal contract.
  • 2+ years of experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server for developing, publishing and refreshing critical reports and dashboards.
  • Experience in Confluence, SharePoint, Jira, Slack and other similar tools.
  • Ability to translate stakeholder input into actionable plans for development and configuration teams.
  • Interest in and passion for technology.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and independently when needed.
  • Certifications in Scrum methodologies, and Agile principles.
  • Familiarity with data lake and data warehouse architecture.
  • U.S. Citizenship REQUIRED and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance REQUIRED.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $102,084.35 per year
