Mid-level Records Management Specialist

Job Description:

Creative Visions is seeking a Mid-level Records Management Specialist to support a federal agency in managing records operations, FOIA request processing, and information governance activities. This role is focused on the day-to-day handling of records and public information requests, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and maintaining accurate, well-organized information systems. This is not a cybersecurity or RMF-focused role. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with FOIA processes, records lifecycle management, and federal records policies.


Must be a U.S. citizen (documentation proof required) and willing to work onsite in Washington, D.C. No relocation assistance will be provided.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform records management activities according to Federal government privacy and legal requirements.
  • Assist in the development of analyses and reports associated with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Privacy Act (PA) processes.
  • Manage the flow of FOIA and PA correspondence or requests and establish processes to provide prompt responses to requestors in accordance with FOIA policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Perform technical tasks involved in maintaining Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Participate in the development of information management policies and governance of supporting applications on Microsoft 365 and Salesforce platforms.
  • Manage SharePoint sites content and permissions.
  • Create and execute PowerShell scripts to produce reports and perform records management tasks.
  • Compile data for reports, transcribe reports, and maintain indexes.
  • Ensure that all work products are proofread and free of errors, omissions, and inconsistencies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in federal records management, FOIA processing, or information management support
  • Hands-on experience processing FOIA requests, including document review, redaction, and response tracking
  • Strong understanding of federal records management principles, including retention schedules and NARA guidelines
  • Experience managing electronic and paper records throughout the records lifecycle
  • Experience working with SharePoint for document management and tracking
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Skills:


  • Familiarity with records management systems (RMA, TRIM, or similar tools)
  • Experience with CRM or case management systems such as Salesforce
  • Experience using reporting tools or basic automation (e.g., PowerShell, Excel reporting)
